Amaro Lucano is a distinguished Italian herbal liqueur, originating from Pisticci in the Basilicata region. Crafted in 1894 by pastry chef Pasquale Vena, this amaro is based on a secret family recipe passed down through generations. It features a meticulous blend of over 30 herbs, including wormwood, clary sage, gentian, angelica, bitter orange, and ruta, resulting in a complex and balanced flavor profile. With an alcohol content of 28% ABV, Amaro Lucano presents a rich, mahogany hue and a bittersweet taste that is both aromatic and smooth. Traditionally enjoyed neat, over ice, or with a slice of orange, it also serves as a versatile component in various cocktails.
