Masterfully crafted from 100% Sercial grapes grown along the steep, volcanic cliffs of the island, this multi-vintage blend undergoes a patient maturation averaging ten years in seasoned American oak casks using the historic Canteiro system. Over a decade of gentle, heat-driven oxidation within the family's Funchal lodges, the wine achieves incredible aromatic complexity while retaining its signature electrifying freshness. In the glass, it exhibits a clear, bright topaz-amber color with warm golden nuances. The highly lifted and sophisticated nose opens with a savory bouquet of dried orange peel, blanched almonds, and white peach, seamlessly layered with complex undertones of beeswax, cardamom spice, green olive, and a subtle touch of background smoke. On the palate, this medium-bodied fortified wine is sharp, dry, and exceptionally focused, driving a pure, mouthwatering core of fresh citrus fruit, tangy kiwi, and grilled walnuts across a structural canvas of searing natural acidity.
