Blue Ice is a potato vodka from Idaho, and it is certified gluten free. The federal government recognizes that status, so you can pour it with confidence.
The family-owned brand was founded in 2002 by Jim Myerson in Rigby, Idaho. It uses Idaho Russet Burbank potatoes, close to 10 pounds for every bottle. The spirit runs through a four-column still. Then it goes through a five-step filtration for a clear, clean result.
On the nose you get light sweetness and a mild earthy note. The palate is smooth and creamy, with soft potato character and a hint of vanilla. The finish is clean, with just a little warmth.
That gentle profile makes it easy to sip chilled or on ice. It shines in a dry Martini, a Moscow Mule or a Bloody Mary. A plain vodka soda with lime works great too.
Set it out with smoked salmon, caviar or a simple charcuterie board. If you need a gluten-free vodka for your home bar, this is a friendly, easygoing choice. You can find the rest of the range under Blue Ice.
