It opens with concentrated aromas of blackberry liqueur, black-currant, and ripe plum wrapped in notes of dark chocolate, cedar shavings, and a faint whiff of violet. Sourced from gravelly benchland in St. Helena and aged 20 months in 70 % new French oak, the palate delivers plush waves of cassis and blueberry cordial balanced by vibrant acidity and chalk-fine tannins. Layers of espresso, cigar box, and crushed graphite emerge as the wine breathes, finishing long and polished—built for immediate pleasure or a decade of graceful cellaring.
Food pairing: Pepper-crusted rib-eye, rosemary lamb rack, mushroom risotto, barbecue brisket, aged cheddar, or 70 % dark-chocolate torte.
