This premium red wine originates from the South Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada, specifically sourced from estate vineyards in Oliver and Osoyoos. Founded in 1993 by the Wyse family, Burrowing Owl Estate Winery was established with a pioneering spirit, becoming one of the first in the province to transition entirely from hybrid to vinifera vines. The winery's philosophy is rooted in environmental stewardship and minimal intervention, utilizing a state-of-the-art gravity-flow system to preserve the true character of the fruit while protecting the local antelope brush ecosystem.
Wine Description
The Burrowing Owl Cabernet Franc presents a deep ruby to crimson colour. Its complex sensory profile offers intense aromas of red currant, plum, and cassis, layered with fragrant notes of violet, dried thyme, and savory tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with a silky texture, showcasing flavours of ripe raspberry, wild blackberry, and black cherry balanced by a crisp acidity. It is characterized by firm, well-integrated tannins and a long, refreshing finish that reveals hints of graphite, baking spices, and dark chocolate.
