The Callaway Chardonnay Cellar Selection originates from the coastal winegrowing regions of California, United States. Founded in 1973 by Ely Callaway, a pioneer in both viticulture and the golf industry, the winery has established a pedigree of over 50 years of winemaking. Now privately owned by the Lin family, the winery continues to honour its founder's philosophy of precision and passion by crafting fruit forward, approachable wines designed for everyday enjoyment.
Wine Description
This Chardonnay presents a vibrant sensory profile, opening with forward aromas of green apple and butterscotch, complemented by notes of toasty oak and crème brûlée. The palate is medium to full bodied, featuring a rich layer of tropical fruit, ripe pear, and pineapple balanced by a creamy texture and vanilla oak spice. A crisp acidity provides freshness and leads to a smooth, lingering finish of toasted hazelnuts and roasted pineapple.
Food Pairing
The wine's rich texture and tropical notes make it an ideal companion for BBQ scallops, roast chicken, or grilled vegetables. It also pairs beautifully with creamy pasta dishes, seafood such as lobster with drawn butter, or mild cheeses like Brie and Monterey Jack.
