Casamigos Reposado is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, grown in Jalisco, Mexico. Its piñas are slow-roasted in traditional ovens, then distilled and aged for about seven months in American white oak barrels. The aim of this aging is to soften the spirit’s edge while preserving clarity and freshness.
Casamigos positions itself as a tequila you don’t need to mask with salt or lime—smooth and approachable by design.
Tasting Profile
-
Color / Appearance: Golden honey
-
Aroma / Nose: Caramel, with hints of cocoa and gentle oak
-
Palate / Flavor: Notes of dried fruit, spicy oak, sweet agave; whispers of vanilla and butterscotch may appear depending on barrel influence
-
Texture & Finish: Silky and smooth in texture, with a soft, slightly oaky finish that lingers with warmth
Style & Suggested Uses
-
Neat / On the Rocks: Because of its softness, it works beautifully when sipped slowly or over a large ice cube
-
Premium Cocktails: Use in Margaritas, Palomas, or other tequila-forward drinks where you want a richer, aged character without overpowering the mix
-
Subtle Enhancement: It can upgrade classic recipes (e.g. tequila sunrise, daiquiri-style tequila) with depth but without heavy oak influence
"Sip or mix this reposado, which is backed by actor George Clooney. Look for pleasing butterscotch and maple sugar, with just enough spice around the edges to keep things interesting. Finishes smooth, with a cinnamon tingle." 92 Points Wine Enthusiast
"The aromas of cooked earth and light caramel are gentle and integrated. Light in the mouth, it has a decidedly dark roasted flavor with notes of coffee and roasted green vegetables that give way to a lingering hint of sweetness." 91 Points 2015 Ultimate Spirits Challenge
