Castello dei Rampolla Vigna d'Alceo 2020
Produced only in exceptional vintages, Vigna d'Alceo is the flagship wine of Castello dei Rampolla and one of Tuscany's most prestigious fine wines. Crafted from a single vineyard in the heart of Panzano in Chianti Classico, this remarkable wine showcases the estate's commitment to biodynamic viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking, delivering a powerful yet elegant expression of Tuscan terroir.
The 2020 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, combining concentration, structure and finesse in equal measure. Matured in French oak barrels before extended bottle ageing, it reveals extraordinary depth and complexity while retaining the freshness and balance that define the finest Super Tuscan wines.
- The nose is intensely aromatic, offering layers of blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry intertwined with violet, tobacco, cedar and sweet spice.
- The palate is full-bodied and beautifully structured, displaying ripe black fruits, cocoa, graphite and savoury herbs supported by refined tannins.
- The finish is exceptionally long and persistent, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, spice, mineral complexity and polished oak.
A profound and age-worthy Tuscan red that exemplifies the elegance and power of one of Italy's most revered boutique estates. Perfectly paired with grilled beef, roast lamb, game dishes and mature hard cheeses.
