Crafted in the famed Pessac-Léognan appellation on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, France, Château La Mission Haut-Brion is an iconic, highly coveted blue-chip estate universally regarded as having First Growth stature. Directly facing its sibling estate, Château Haut-Brion, across the road, La Mission Haut-Brion is owned and managed by Domaine Clarence Dillon (Prince Robert of Luxembourg). The estate’s historic 29-hectare vineyard thrives on deep Garonne gravel beds with clay and sand subsoils, giving the wine its signature power, mineral intensity, and profound savory complexity. Typically featuring a higher proportion of Merlot alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the vines yield fruit of immense concentration and dramatic texture. Meticulously vinified in temperature-controlled vats and matured for 18 to 22 months in French oak barrels (70–80% new), Château La Mission Haut-Brion is globally celebrated for its intoxicating aromas of dark fruit, sweet cigar wrapper, and crushed gravel minerality, paired with monumental longevity.
Food Pairing: Prime dry-aged ribeye steak, roasted rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, venison tenderloin, roasted duck breast, truffled wild mushroom risotto, and fine aged French cheeses like Comté or Époisses.
