Privada Storytelling
The Colada Duarte is more than a cigar—it’s a tribute to freedom, heritage, and legend. Crafted by the elusive Hijo De Domingo in the mountains near Pico Duarte, this cigar draws inspiration from the revolutionary spirit of Juan Pablo Duarte and the fabled Colada sword, a symbol of resilience and strength. With over two years of age, this Dominican puro captures the very essence of the island’s tobacco soul.
Every detail of the Duarte Colada is steeped in legacy. Just as Duarte fought for independence, this cigar stands as a symbol of Dominican pride, blending art, mystery, and history in every puff. Smoking it feels like stepping into a story where revolution meets ritual, and the flame becomes a torch for heritage.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Opens with a luxurious sweetness—dried apricot, cedar, and a touch of honey cream. Cinnamon and light black pepper linger on the tongue, delivering a balance of fruit and spice.
-
Second Third: The profile deepens into roasted nuts, oak, and black coffee, while the apricot note persists, giving a Cuban-like familiarity. Creamy smoke envelops the palate with baker’s spices and exotic herbs.
-
Final Third: A crescendo of woods, dried fruits, cinnamon, and white pepper, with retrohales of spice and cedar. The apricot note lingers as a signature flourish, tying together heritage and complexity.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Colada Duarte represents what Privada stands for—rare, story-rich cigars that connect the smoker to something bigger. Aged, authentic, and unapologetically Dominican, it embodies the blend of artistry and rebellion that defines Privada’s selections. It isn’t just a cigar; it’s a journey into the very DNA of Dominican cigar-making.
