CR&F Old Brandy Reserva is an iconic Portuguese wine brandy from the historic Carvalho, Ribeiro & Ferreira house. Introduced in 1950, it is produced by blending selected wine brandies and aging them over the years in oak casks. Its production was influenced by traditional maturation practices studied in Jerez de la Frontera, including the Solera method, resulting in a rich and complex brandy with a distinctive dark topaz colour, noble wood character, citrus, chocolate, nuts and caramel.
Food Pairing: Dark chocolate, crème brûlée, caramel desserts, roasted almonds and walnuts, dried fruit, mature cheeses, and nut-based pastries.
Tasting Notes: Dark topaz from barrel aging, with a rich and complex profile combining noble wood character with citrus, toasted custard, dark chocolate, nuts and caramel.
Nose: Complex and balanced, dominated by elegant notes of noble wood from extended oak maturation.
Palate: Rich and complex with citrus, toasted custard, dark chocolate, nuts, caramel and a distinctive savoury hint of mustard.
Finish: Smooth and persistent, with lingering oak, caramel, nuts and dark chocolate.
