Bottled at 50% ABV in a 375 ml format, the 2023 Thanksgiving Turkey Pechuga from Erstwhile takes the traditional pechuga method and steers it toward mole negro. The result is a holiday-minded mezcal built on classic third-distillation technique with deliberate flavor additions layered in.
In the glass, wood smoke leads into mole spice and cooked agave, with warm baking spices carrying through to a long, layered finish. As a limited special release, it sits squarely with drinkers who follow small-batch mezcal and collectors tracking unusual pechuga bottlings.
