Barbecue and bourbon enthusiasts finally share a magnificent, smoky obsession. ASW Distillery brilliantly collaborated with Big Green Egg for this drop. Master Distiller Justin Manglitz toasted custom white oak staves directly inside the iconic ceramic smoker over smoldering hickory charcoal for profoundly savory flavor. This smoky experiment yields an absolute triumph. The luscious sweetness of a massive wheat mashbill clashes beautifully with intense, pitmaster-style wood smoke, creating a remarkably gripping texture.
This uncut single barrel profoundly shatters standard expectations. The liquid matured for six grueling years before undergoing that unique secondary stave treatment. Those heavily smoked heartwood inserts force the volatile alcohol to aggressively extract dense, syrupy lactones without capturing any bitter tannins whatsoever. It drinks dangerously smoothly today. Bottling at a 100 proof preserves the fatty acids required for a lush, coating viscosity that commands your complete attention.
Independent blenders consistently rewrite the established rules of maturation. We completely adore this unabashedly bold, smoky profile. The heavy wood foundation securely anchors a remarkably intricate architecture of vintage leather and caramelized peach that commercial alternatives simply cannot replicate. This specific profile demands your attention. Missing out on this highly allocated Atlanta masterpiece feels like a genuinely devastating oversight for any serious collector.
