Privada Storytelling
The Charter Oak Maduro is Nick Melillo’s tribute to the soil he came from and the leaf he came to master. Named for the legendary tree that once stood as a symbol of freedom in his native Connecticut, this cigar is heritage in rolled form. A no-nonsense Broadleaf beauty, it’s the kind of cigar that could sit just as comfortably in a statesman’s humidor as in a mason’s lunchbox. For Privada, it’s that accessible luxury—a cigar born of reverence for tradition but crafted with modern fire. This is the smoke of honest work, rich land, and deep pride.
Flavor Journey
From the spark, cocoa and barnyard earth set the tone—dense, chewy, and grounded. A burst of black coffee and toasted nuts follows, with underlying sweetness like molasses and raisin syrup. Midway, black pepper gains strength, supported by leather and cedar. The final third becomes darker still, with dry spice, subtle dark fruit, and a lingering roasted bitterness that balances the sweetness. A cigar that evolves without losing grip—a perfect Broadleaf balance.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Because real cigars for real people still matter. Charter Oak Maduro isn’t built to impress—it’s built to satisfy. In Privada, we hunt for cigars that stay true to their roots, and this one wears its heritage like a badge. Broadleaf done right, accessible without compromise, rich without pretense. This is proof that luxury isn’t always loud—and that respect for the craft sometimes means making it available to everyone.
