When it comes to supplying the World’s top cigar manufacturers with the finest tobaccos in the land, there simply is no competition to the Oliva family’s incredible cache of tobaccos that seemingly stretch to every corner of the Globe. And the man most responsible for the Oliva legacy now has a cigar made in his honor: The Gilberto Oliva Reserva 650 by Oliva.
Gilberto Oliva, Sr. was a visionary who brought his own brand of tobacco growing techniques to Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Mexico and as far away as the Philippines. And the 6” x 50 Gilberto Oliva Reserva 650 beautifully captures Gilberto Oliva’s spirit by way of luscious Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, an Ecuadorian binder leaf and deeply textured Sumatra wrapper leaf.
The Gilberto Oliva Reserva 650 kicks off as a medium-bodied smoke that entices the sense with wave after wave of cocoa, earth, spice, leather and cream flavors which are topped by a softly sweet note. The hour or so adventure reaches in to the medium-to-full bodied range as it concludes with an amazingly gratifying finish.
Whether as an engaging tribute to a man who helped change the face of the modern cigar industry or simply as a smooth and tasty escape, the Gilberto Oliva Reserva 650 is a winning choice that should delight one and all as only an Oliva cigar could.
