The Grace O’Malley Maritime Cask Irish Whiskey is an innovative and award-winning expression that brings together traditional Irish whiskey craftsmanship with the powerful influence of the Atlantic Ocean. Inspired by the legendary Irish pirate queen Grace O’Malley, this distinctive release captures a spirit of adventure, resilience, and exploration in every sip.
Crafted from a blend of grain, pot still, and malt whiskeys, the whiskey is finished in specially commissioned virgin French oak casks uniquely seasoned by the Atlantic coastline for over two years. Exposed to the sea air and maritime climate, these barrels develop a remarkable salty character that adds a completely unique dimension to the whiskey’s maturation and flavour profile.
On the nose, expect inviting aromas of caramel, vanilla, orange peel, honey, and subtle maritime notes. The palate delivers a beautifully balanced interplay between sweetness and salinity, where creamy caramel and vanilla are complemented by gentle citrus brightness and a distinctive oceanic influence. The finish is long, warming, and intriguingly complex, with lingering notes of toasted sweetness, sea salt, and delicate spice.
Awarded an impressive 95/100 Gold rating by the IWSC, Grace O’Malley Maritime Cask stands out as one of the more original and characterful modern Irish whiskeys available today. For fans of premium Irish whiskey Ireland, it offers a truly memorable tasting experience shaped by both land and sea.
