Graffigna, founded in 1870 by Italian immigrant Santiago Graffigna, is one of Argentina’s oldest wineries and a pioneering name in the San Juan region. Nestled in the Pedernal Valley, the estate is known for its high-altitude vineyards and a commitment to innovation while preserving traditional winemaking values.
Wine Description
This Cabernet Sauvignon displays a deep ruby colour with violet highlights. The nose is expressive, offering ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry layered with notes of vanilla, tobacco, and a hint of spice from oak ageing. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with structured tannins and vibrant acidity, delivering flavours of blackcurrant, plum, and subtle chocolate. The finish is long, with savoury undertones and a touch of minerality. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is best enjoyed now through 2028. Its style leans toward bold yet balanced, offering freshness and complexity.
Food Pairing
Excellent with grilled ribeye, lamb stew, or portobello mushroom burgers. Aged cheeses like manchego or gouda also complement the wine’s robust profile. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
