How to Use: The Perfect Brew Recipe
Achieve a smooth, balanced cup with this step-by-step guide:
-
Prepare Your Equipment – Place the Kalita Wave 185 MINO Dripper on your mug or carafe. Insert a Kalita 185 Wave Filter and rinse with hot water to eliminate any paper taste. Discard the rinse water.
-
Measure & Grind – Use 20-25g of medium-coarse ground coffee (similar to sea salt texture) for a balanced extraction.
-
Bloom (First Pour) – Start with 40-50g of hot water (195-205°F / 90-96°C), gently pouring in a circular motion to saturate the grounds. Let it sit for 30-45 seconds to allow gases to escape.
-
Controlled Pouring – Slowly pour water in stages, aiming for a total brew weight of 300-400g over 2.5 to 3.5 minutes. Pour in small circles, avoiding the edges of the filter.
-
Enjoy! – Once the coffee has fully dripped through, remove the dripper and give your coffee a gentle swirl before sipping.
💡 Pro Tip: Adjust grind size and brew time to fine-tune your flavor profile!
