La Chapelle d'Ausone 2020 combines concentrated red and black fruit with floral, mineral and subtle spice notes. The palate is energetic and precise, framed by fine tannins, vibrant freshness and a persistent saline finish. Cabernet Franc leads the blend, supported by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Food Pairing: Pairs best with herb-roasted lamb, duck breast, braised beef, mushroom dishes and aged cheeses.
95 Points - James Suckling
The purity of fruit here is really impressive, with crushed currants and raspberries. Violets and lavender. Full-bodied, very intense and energetic. Tangy, with bitter orange undertones. It grabs you. Chewy and fine tannins at the end. Second wine of Ausone. A blend of 60% cabernet franc, 35% merlot, and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Needs four to five years to come together and open.
