The 2022 Lingua Franca Estate Pinot Noir is a graceful and multilayered expression of the Eola-Amity Hills, defined by its vibrancy and precision. It presents a translucent ruby color and opens with a "flower shop" bouquet of roses and violets, interwoven with scents of red fruits like raspberry, pomegranate, and dark plum. On the palate, the wine is silky and dense, showcasing a harmonious balance between its rich fruit core and a distinct mineral vein of wet stone and crushed chalk. Fine-grained tannins and brisk acidity provide an elegant structure, leading to a long, lifted finish with savory notes of herbs, anise, and subtle spice.
Food Pairing: Pairs excellently with roasted poultry (chicken or duck), grilled salmon, mushroom-rich pasta, veal chops, or savory pork dishes like Teriyaki pork.
94 Points - Wine Spectator
So elegantly structured that its deep complexity sneaks up on you. Flavors of raspberry and cherry mix with crushed stone and black tea accents as this builds tension toward refined tannins.
James Suckling
The nose is lifted and floral, with delicate aromas of cherry, pomegranate and hibiscus. The palate is medium-bodied with soft, integrated tannins and bright acidity, giving notes of citrus rind, rooibos tea and cassia bark. A balance of sweet and savory.
