Introduction
Long Barn Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 originates from California, United States, where the family owned and operated winery is based in the Napa Valley. The winery was founded with a philosophy of preserving regional character and agricultural charm, drawing inspiration from the historic long barn that serves as its namesake. Head winemaker Stefano Migotto, a legacy vintner from northern Italy, oversees production, blending old world traditions with a focus on creating wines that reflect their countryside birthplace.
Wine Description
This medium to full bodied wine displays a deep red colour and offers bold, ripe, fruit filled aromas. The sensory profile features luscious flavours of blackberry, rhubarb, and dried cherry, accented by distinctive notes of oak and cedar. On the palate, it exhibits great complexity with approachable structure and defined tannins that lead into a lingering finish. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon typically has an ABV of 13.5%.
Food Pairing
The bold fruit profile and defined tannins of this Cabernet Sauvignon make it an ideal companion for grilled or roasted red meats. Suggested pairings include prime rib, grilled steaks, and BBQ burgers, as the wine's structure effectively cuts through richer fats. It also harmonizes well with barbecued summer vegetables, Chicago or New York style pizzas with meat toppings, and aged cheeses such as mimolette.
