Privada Storytelling
Summer of ’22. The cigar that defined a season, a vibe, and a moment in Privada history. Mango Cedar wasn’t born in a corporate boardroom or designed for market trends—it was the personal smoke of Angel, a factory worker at Tabacalera Tolupan in Honduras. Unlike master blenders creating for prestige brands, Angel crafted this for himself, the only cigar he smoked. That authenticity is felt in every puff.
Privada members alone were given access to these gems. Dressed beautifully to stand out, this cigar embodies what Honduran terroir can do when guided not by marketing but by love and instinct. Mango Cedar balances raw energy with surprising finesse, a true summer cigar that has now matured into a timeless piece of Privada heritage. With 4+ years of age, it has become something richer, deeper, and more extraordinary than when first discovered.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Bold mango fruit bursts alongside charred cedar and sharp black pepper. Oak and florals rush in on the retrohale, carrying both sweetness and spice. A tangy, salty edge ties the sensations together.
-
Second Third: Balance emerges. Fruits and cedar stay dominant, joined by leather and spice. Creamy oak smoke mingles with florals, mango, and a subtle salty minerality. The intensity remains, but now with depth and poise.
-
Final Third: Vanilla enters gracefully, turning the mango into a creamsicle-like sensation. Spices, pepper, and leather still hold their ground, but the interplay of fruit and cream creates a finish that is indulgent, layered, and unforgettable.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Mango Cedar represents the soul of discovery. It was never intended for the market—it was one man’s private expression of flavor and love for tobacco. That purity is what Privada is all about: uncovering cigars that would never otherwise reach the public, then aging them to perfection. With more than 4 years of maturity, Mango Cedar has evolved into a benchmark Honduran cigar, worthy of its place in Privada’s catalog of legendary finds.
