The Marcotte Moonshine Summer Line Up gathers warm-weather flavors from a small family distillery. Joe and Janelle Marcotte run it in Philomath, Oregon, just west of Corvallis. They opened its doors in 2018 after years in the trucking business.
Marcotte's method is simple. The spirit is distilled several times until it is almost flavorless. Then the team adds all-natural flavorings. That clean base lets the fruit come through without a harsh grain bite. It is why the bottles taste light and easy rather than hot.
This set leans bright and fruity. You'll catch citrus blossom on the nose, then soft berries and a little herbal note. On the palate, fresh citrus leads into juicy berry and a light tropical touch. The texture stays light, and the finish is clean with a hint of fruit.
These flavors are made for sunny days. Pour them well chilled or over plenty of ice. Top a glass with lemonade or club soda for a quick porch drink. You can also add a splash to iced tea. Set out fresh fruit, chips and salsa, or anything off the grill.
Pick up the lineup if you like sweet, fruit-forward spirits and relaxed summer sipping. It also makes a fun gift for friends who host backyard parties. If you want something dark or smoky, look at a bourbon instead.
