As lovers of all things bitter, we spend a lot of time fawning over the drinking culture of Italy, most famously recognized via the ritual of aperitivo – a chance to relax and socialize while drinking a sunset-hued spritz, Campari soda, or negroni. Of course, there are delightful ways to bend one’s elbow all over the world, and anyone who has spent time in the Caribbean, especially when venturing out from the resorts into the local community, would certainly have come across the tradition of rum punch. Every café, restaurant, roadside stand, and grandmother has their own closely guarded recipe of fruit, citrus, rum, and spice. Batched at the start of the day, the rum is potent and flavorful, the spice offers a subtle contrast, and the orange and yellow fruit juices are combined with rich red syrups into an unmistakable golden pink shade entirely their own. Tropical, aromatic, bitter, and beautifully opaque – the Negroni Punch is the best of both, an aperitivo with island vibes.
Kit includes: Foursquare Probitas White Rum (750 ml), Forthave Red Aperitivo Liqueur (750 ml), Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur (750 ml)
