1. Introduction
This wine is from the USA, specifically California, and the Paso Robles El Pomar District subregion in the Central Coast. The NSO brand is a project by winemaker Dusty Nabor, a California native known for a philosophy focused on over-delivering value with wines meant for 'no special occasion'. This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from a single vineyard in the Paso Robles area. The winemaking emphasizes showcasing the fruit with a focus on polished, approachable structure.
2. Wine Description
This wine is typically a deep ruby or dark colour. The aroma profile is inviting and features notes of blackberry, cassis, and vanilla, layered with hints of oak and dark cocoa. The palate is rich and full-bodied, offering a concentrated profile of ripe dark fruits like black cherry and currant, balanced by a touch of spice. It is noted for its refined, smooth, and velvety tannins that coat the palate, which is balanced by a fresh, bright acidity. The finish is long and persistent, showing hints of tobacco and French oak. The varietal composition is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is approachable and delicious now, but it is structured to cellar for years to come. The ABV is not explicitly listed across all sources, but New World Cabernet Sauvignon generally ranges from 13.5% to 15.5%. The wine is not confirmed as organic.
