Origin Uji Daily Ritual Ceremonial Grade Matcha is a first-harvest, stone-milled Japanese green tea blend crafted by a Level 10 Tea Master for smooth, low-astringency flavor in both traditional usucha and modern lattes.
Harvested in Uji, Kyoto—one of Japan’s most storied tea regions—this matcha combines shade-grown, first-harvest leaves that are stone-ground monthly to preserve their vivid color, aroma, and nutrients. The blend was developed by a Judan Chashi (Level 10 Japanese Tea Master) to offer a reliable, everyday ceremonial experience: vivid green, buttery-smooth texture, and deep umami without excessive bitterness. It’s designed to perform well for whisked usucha, frothy lattes, and culinary uses where clean matcha character is essential.
How does this matcha differ from supermarket greens?
Not all green powders are created equal—this product is ceremonial-grade, meaning only the youngest, tender leaves from the first flush are used and stone-milled to a fine, silky powder. Monthly stone-grinding and careful selection help maintain volatile aromas and vibrant color that lower-quality matcha loses in mass production.
- First-harvest leaves for higher amino acid and flavor concentration
- Stone-milled monthly to reduce heat damage and preserve aroma
- Crafted by a Level 10 Tea Master for balanced taste and consistency
What does it taste like and how should I prepare it?
Expect a buttery, smooth cup with pronounced umami and low astringency—ideal for those who favor clarity over sharp bitterness. For traditional usucha, whisk with water at around 70–80°C; for lattes, blend with steamed milk for a round, creamy finish.
- Usucha preparation: 1–2 grams matcha with 60–80 ml hot water, whisk until frothy
- Latte: 1–2 grams matcha with 30 ml hot water, then add steamed milk for texture
- Culinary use: fold into batters, smoothies, and desserts for clean green tea flavor
Why choose a Level 10 Tea Master blend?
A Judan Chashi brings decades of sensory training and regional knowledge to the blend, selecting leaf grades and proportions that deliver reliable flavor across preparations. That expertise reduces variability between batches and helps novices and enthusiasts alike achieve an authentic experience.
- Blend tuned by an expert to emphasize umami and smoothness
- Consistent performance for both whisked tea and milk-based drinks
- Higher-quality leaf selection minimizes vegetal bitterness
How should I store and use this matcha for best results?
Matcha is sensitive to light, heat, and oxygen—store it in a cool, dark place and reseal the pouch or transfer to an airtight container. Use within a reasonable timeframe after opening for brightest color and aroma; keep utensils dry and avoid cross-contamination with strong flavors.
- Keep sealed in original pouch or an airtight tin away from heat
- Use a dry bamboo scoop and whisk to avoid moisture contamination
- Consume within weeks after opening for peak freshness
