This elegant sparkling wine originates from the Trento DOC region in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of northern Italy, nestled within the Dolomites. Rotari is a prestigious producer that exclusively utilizes the metodo classico (traditional method), with all wines classified under the strict 'Trentodoc' designation. The winery is named after the 7th-century Lombard King Rotari and is celebrated for its striking modern architecture that mimics the jagged Alpine peaks and traditional pergola vine-training systems. Rotari’s philosophy focuses on sustainability and highlighting the region's unique Alpine terroir, characterized by dramatic diurnal temperature variations that preserve natural acidity in the grapes.
Wine Description
The Rotari Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut presents a bright, light yellow colour with delicate straw highlights and a persistent, fine perlage. As a 'white from whites' style, it is crafted from 100% Chardonnay. The sensory profile is complex and refined, featuring an intense bouquet of ripe golden apples, pineapple, and citrus, layered with elegant notes of bread crust, toasted nuts, and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is bone-dry and well-balanced, showcasing a crisp minerality and a creamy texture derived from 48 months of aging on the lees. It is characterized by its linear acidity and a long, persistent finish with hints of hazelnut and dried fruit.
