Stagg Bourbon Batch 22B
This is a barrel-proof Kentucky straight bourbon from the famed Buffalo Trace Distillery. It honours George T. Stagg, the 19th-century businessman who built the distillery into a powerhouse. This nineteenth batch was released in the winter of 2022, matured for close to a decade. True to form, it comes uncut and unfiltered at a mighty 65% ABV. A generous splash of water helps tame the heat and reveal its depth.
- Rich and velvety on the palate, with sweet chocolate and deep brown sugar.
- Bold rye spice brings real warmth through the middle.
- A long finish unfolds dark cherries, fragrant cloves and a whisper of smoke.
Sip it neat with a few drops of water, or pour it over a large ice cube. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, pecan pie or a mature, salty cheese.
