Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey is a pioneering American single malt that helped define its category. With expressive malt character, vibrant spice, and rock-solid balance, it stands as a flagship craft whiskey—equally compelling neat, on the rocks, or in elevated cocktails.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey is handcrafted at Stranahan’s Distillery in Denver, Colorado, a cornerstone of the modern American single malt renaissance. The spirit is distilled from 100 % malted barley, embracing a production philosophy rooted in small-batch craft and mountain terroir.
From mash to bottle, Stranahan’s retains a hands-on approach: traditional floor-malting influences grain character, and the distillate is shaped with Rocky Mountain spring water that contributes subtle minerality and clarity. After distillation, the whiskey matures in new charred American oak barrels stored at altitude, where seasonal temperature cycles accelerate interaction between wood and spirit—deepening colour, texture, and flavour. The result is a single malt with clarity of expression and depth unusual for American whiskey, marrying Old World style with new-world innovation.

"This 100% malted barley spent two years in new charred oak and boasts an amber color, sweet caramel scent with a touch of coconut and juicy apple, and relatively dry flavors. What sets this whiskey apart is the remarkable deep cocoa and pronounced coffee finish and velvety, creamy mouthfeel, reminiscent of ice cream and root beer foam. An alcohol sting cuts through, but should temper over ice nicely." Wine Enthusiast 92 Points
