Foundation Cigars’ fearless leader Nicholas Melillo has steered the cigar company towards great success due in no small part to his mastery of the Connecticut Broadleaf. Nowhere can you better experience Melillo’s prowess in action than with the voluptuously textured Tabernacle Broadleaf Robusto. This dark and rich 5” x 50 delight takes the senses to new heights with a savory and silky smooth smoke.
The cigar features an alluring example of the Connecticut Valley’s finest Broadleaf wrappers. A Mexican San Andres binder and a blend of Nicaraguan Esteli and Honduran Jamastran filler tobaccos complete the bold yet exceptionally balanced smoke.
Tabernacle Broadleaf Robusto cigars unfurl a deliciously complex array of flavors with each lasting draw. Chocolate, walnut, and maple notes awaken the senses, as hints of leather and pepper at a pleasing chewiness to the medium-to-full-bodied endeavor. Coffee bean flavors thicken the smoke as it concludes with a lively, quintessentially Broadleaf finish.
The “Tabernacle” name refers to the place where the Ark of the Covenant was kept while in Ethiopia before moving to King Solomon’s Temple. Bringing the cigar’s inspiration full circle is a cigar band featuring Ethiopia’s last emperor Haile Selassie, said to have traced his lineage back to King Solomon. Like its namesake, the Tabernacle Broadleaf Robusto proves a most revered treasure for cigar smokers, especially Broadleaf Maduro lovers.
