Telmont Réserve Brut is the signature non-vintage cuvée from Champagne Telmont, a house located in Damery that has surged into the global spotlight recently due to its radical focus on sustainability. Founded in 1912, the house is now backed by investor Leonardo DiCaprio and the Rémy Cointreau group. Telmont is known for its extreme transparency—listing detailed blend and disgorgement data on every label—and its "In the Name of Mother Nature" project, which aims for 100% organic viticulture by 2031.
Wine Description
The Réserve Brut is designed to be a "symphony" of the region's three iconic grapes, balanced to show freshness and maturity simultaneously.
Appearance: A delicate golden hue with a fine, steady mousse.
Nose: Elegant and complex, featuring aromas of honeysuckle, fresh pear, and green apple, evolving into richer notes of toasted almonds, vanilla, and brioche.
Palate: The mouthfeel is round and harmonious, balancing the edginess of Chardonnay with the depth of Pinot Noir. Flavors of mirabelle plum, custard, and lemon curd are supported by a crisp, mineral-driven acidity and a chalky finish.
Food Pairing
This Champagne’s balance of richness and tension makes it highly versatile. It is a perfect match for fresh oysters or a decadent caviar dish. Its creamy texture and acidity also allow it to pair beautifully with tuna tataki, creamy seafood pasta, or light poultry dishes. For a simple but elegant pairing, try it with mild soft cheeses like Chaource or Brie.
