The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 7 is a highly regarded, limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky crafted by marrying select casks in The Balvenie’s Tun 1509 marrying tun. For this batch, 21 casks were chosen: ten sherry butts, seven sherry hogsheads and four American oak barrels. They rested together in the tun before being bottled at 52.4% ABV, creating a rich and complex profile. Deep oak leads on the nose, with dried fruit and raisins behind it. The palate is lush and gently peppery, layered with candied orange peel, vanilla and honeycomb. The finish is long, with oak, vanilla and a warm layer of spice, showcasing depth and craftsmanship.
