This elegant and award-winning rosé originates from Canada, specifically within the British Columbia region and the Cowichan Valley subregion on Vancouver Island. Unsworth Vineyards is a family owned estate founded in 2009 by the Turyk family, who were drawn to the area's unique coastal climate. The winery's philosophy is centred on creating wines with a distinct 'sense of place', utilizing sustainable viticulture to highlight the bright acidity and mineral character typical of Vancouver Island's cool-climate terroir.
Wine Description
Unsworth Vineyards Rosé 2022 presents a beautiful, pale wild-salmon pink colour. The sensory profile is delicate and complex, featuring an aromatic nose of wild strawberries, cranberries, and red currants, layered with sophisticated notes of rhubarb, rose petals, and a hint of orange zest. On the palate, the wine is light to medium bodied and 'bone dry', showcasing a crisp texture and a vibrant, mouth-watering acidity. It is characterized by its remarkable freshness and savory mineral backbone, leading to a long, clean finish with lingering notes of tart red fruit. This 100% Pinot Noir wine reached an ABV of 12%. While the estate follows sustainable practices and minimal intervention, this specific bottling is not certified organic.
