Distilled at Wayne Gretzky Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, this fifth installment in the Craftsmanship Series is produced from 100% Brasetto Canadian rye grain. Aged for 8 years in ex-bourbon casks and finished for 10 months in medium-plus toasted virgin American oak barrels, this 55.3% ABV cask-strength expression delivers rich dessert notes, sweet wood sugar, and warming baking spices.
Food Pairing: Crème brûlée, pecan pie, roasted hazelnuts, smoked brisket, or dark chocolate desserts.
Tasting Notes: Deep copper amber with warm reddish highlights and heavy viscosity along the glass.
Nose: Rich and complex, opening with aromas of crème brûlée, vanilla bean, and cinnamon, followed by toasted marshmallow, light oak smoke, and sweet brown sugar.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, featuring sweet butterscotch, toasted marshmallow, and roasted hazelnut upfront before developing layers of warm baking spices and rich wood tannins.
Finish: Long, warming, and smooth with lingering notes of sweet vanilla, brown sugar, and a subtle smoky finish.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass, or add a few drops of cool water to unlock the subtle hazelnut and sweet crème brûlée aromas.
