Worthy Park White Overproof Rum (frequently branded as Rum-Bar White Overproof) is a powerhouse spirit from the historic Worthy Park Estate in Lluidas Vale, Jamaica. As a "single estate" product, every step—from sugar cane cultivation to bottling—happens on-site. This rum is a landmark release because it is the first modern Jamaican overproof to blend traditional molasses-based distillates with fresh cane juice distillates. Unlike many high-proof rums that rely on column stills for neutrality, Worthy Park is 100% copper pot-distilled, preserving the intense "hogo" (funk) and character that Jamaican rum is famous for.
Spirit Description
This rum is crystal clear and bottled at the traditional Jamaican overproof strength of 63% ABV (126 proof). On the nose, it is remarkably bright and fragrant, dominated by overripe bananas, pineapple, and exotic fruits, with a grassy, vegetal edge from the cane juice. The palate delivers an explosive "overproof punch" that is surprisingly smooth for its strength. It features a concentrated fruit profile of papaya, strawberry jam, and honey, balanced by a savory, peppery heat and a hint of salinity. The finish is long and clean, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit and charcoal.
