Yamato Takeda Shingen Japanese Whisky is named for one of Japan's most formidable and celebrated warlords — Takeda Shingen, the "Tiger of Kai," whose tactical brilliance and commanding presence made him a legend of the Sengoku period. This 750ml expression from Yamato channels that same bold authority and refined power into every pour.
Positioned above the Honda Tadakatsu in the Yamato samurai series, Takeda Shingen delivers a more complex and commanding profile — a whisky of greater depth and presence that reflects the stature of the warrior it honors. Crafted with the precision and restraint that defines Japanese whisky at its finest, this is an expression that rewards the patient and the discerning.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Rich and inviting — ripe stone fruit, toasted oak, warm honey, vanilla, and a subtle floral elegance with a deeper, more complex character than the entry-level expressions
- Palate: Full-bodied and refined — caramel, dried apricot, light spice, and a well-integrated oak influence with the silky, harmonious balance that is the hallmark of premium Japanese whisky
- Finish: Medium-long and graceful, with lingering honey, soft fruit, toasted oak, and a clean, elegant close
