SMWS GN6.3 Yearning for Bubbles is a vibrant single cask Scottish gin independently bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Distilled in Edinburgh on September 10, 2020, and matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, this limited release is one of just 255 bottles. Bottled at 49.6% ABV, it delivers a lively botanical experience combining bright citrus, fragrant juniper, delicate florals and aromatic herbs. Its distinctive cask influence and expressive character make it an intriguing choice for gin enthusiasts seeking something beyond a traditional London Dry style.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with citrus-marinated olives, goat cheese, grilled salmon, herb-roasted chicken, rosemary crackers and lightly spiced seafood. Its refreshing citrus and botanical notes also complement cucumber salads, lemon tart and dishes featuring fresh coriander.
Tasting Notes: A lively and aromatic Scottish gin featuring blood orange sorbet, lime zest, elderflower and juniper. Herbal and floral complexity develops through coriander, pine needles, rose petals and delicate spice, balanced by bright citrus freshness.
Nose: Fresh aromas of blood orange sorbet, lime zest and elderflower mingle with juniper and gentle pepper. With water, notes of nettle tea, smoky black tea and lemon curd emerge.
Palate: Vibrant and spicy, revealing coriander seed, pine needles, caraway and delicate rose petals. A splash of water introduces fresh coriander, cucumber juice, poppy seeds and bergamot oil.
Finish: Bright and refreshing, with lingering citrus zest, fragrant herbs and gentle botanical spice.
