Miro Bastoni Vineyard Zinfandel is an exceptional, small-production artisanal red wine masterfully crafted by winemaker Miro Tcholakov. Sourced from the unique and secluded Bastoni Vineyard, nestled within the mountainous terrain of the Fountaingrove District in Sonoma County, this vineyard-designate thrives under conditions of intense sunshine balanced by cooling elevated breezes. The carefully managed, low-yield vines are anchored in highly complex soils that foster rich flavor concentration and profound structural depth. In the glass, it displays a deep crimson hue with brilliant purple edges. The aromatic bouquet is intensely expressive and concentrated, opening with vibrant layers of dark cherries, wild blueberries, and ripe plums, beautifully woven with hints of raisins, lilac, vanilla, and sweet baking spices like cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, robust, and plush, delivering a dense core of dark berry fruit flavors seamlessly supported by very soft, elegant tannins and a well-integrated, mouthwatering acidity that drives into a remarkably long, juicy, and spicy finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye steaks, rosemary-roasted lamb chops, barbecued pork ribs, savory venison stews, and mature hard cheeses like sharp white cheddar.
